In the early 1980s, the Chaidemenos family embarked on a pioneering venture that would forever change the landscape of Oia, Santorini. Among the first families to introduce tourism to the tranquil fishing village, Yiannis and Anna Chaidemenos transformed a set of 17th-century caves, primarily used for storing wine, into avant-garde accommodations, which evolved to become some of the best hotels to stay in Santorini.
Starting with only two caves, the Chaidemenos family nurtured their vision over four decades. Today, the legacy of Yiannis and Anna Chaidemenos has been passed over to the next generation, preserving Canaves Collection as a family-owned business. It continues to thrive, embodying luxury, sophistication, and the unique allure of Santorini.
